Terms of Service

Effective November 2, 2026. These terms govern your use of PONI. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. See the Privacy Policy for how PONI handles information.

What PONI does

PONI records ICMP check-ins from a device you configure and reports when they stop or resume. A missing check-in does not establish whether power, a network, the device, or PONI itself caused the interruption. Alerts may be delayed or missed if PONI, the internet, or email delivery is unavailable. Use PONI as a supplementary signal, not as an emergency, life-safety, or sole monitoring system.

Your account and monitors

Use an email address you control and only monitor devices and locations you own or are authorized to monitor. Keep sign-in links, sessions, monitor tokens, and downloaded client files private. Anyone with a monitor token can imitate a check-in; rotate it if exposed. You are responsible for the monitor names and other information you submit.

Public status links

A monitor is private unless you enable its public status link. Anyone with that link can see its name, status, and timeline. You can disable the link at any time. Do not put confidential information in a monitor name if you plan to share it.

Acceptable use

Do not interfere with the service, try to access another person's account or monitor, or use PONI to send unwanted traffic. We may limit or suspend access when needed to protect the service or other users.

Availability and changes

PONI is currently a small public beta. Features and limits may change, and the service may have outages or end. We will post updated terms here with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.

Warranty and liability

PONI is provided as available, without a guarantee that check-ins or alerts will always work. To the extent allowed by applicable law, PONI is not responsible for losses caused by missed, late, or inaccurate alerts. These terms do not limit rights that applicable law does not allow us to limit.
